See More With Simrad Marine Electronics
Out on the sea, you need the best equipment. It does not particularly matter whether you are a professional charter service or just enjoy your weekend watersport, the quality of your equipment contributes to the result that is necessary for success, whether it is a good catch of fish or safe boating in the bay. Simrad marine electronics are of a standard that always imbues confidence through accurate environmental reporting.
About Simrad Marine For Sale in Australia
Simrad is a Norwegian company producing marine electronics for nearly 80 years, specifically focusing on navigation, communication, auto-steering and fish-finding technologies. Emphasis is on reliability in harsh environments while maintaining consistent data output. The benefits of installing Simrad equipment on your boat include:
- The various Simrad components are fully integrated and the monitoring capabilities of most engine manufacturers and boat builders. This creates a single point for complete status reports on the bridge and even to receive updates on a mobile device for quick reaction during an event.
- Simrad equipment are manufactured and programmed for local conditions and according to Australian requirements. This ensures the most extraordinary levels of safety by augmenting the measured environment with known data about the coastline.
- All parts are available for maintenance replacement of sub-components by owners and the professional repair of every piece of major and minor equipment by trained technicians. This piece of mind means that your investment in Simrad equipment will be good for many years of regular use at sea.
Installing a Simrad Chartplotter
A chartplotter from Simrad makes it unnecessary to have complete and detailed charts of the Australian and New Zealand coastline and open waterways on board. Accurate GPS navigation means that you always know where you are and how to get to your destination via the safest route. Various models are available, often also integrated with sonar and fish-finding technology.
- The Cruise series of chartplotters offer the most convenient method to add accurate navigation to your boat. It is available in three different screen sizes, but all have the same functional specifications. As a baseline model, it already includes sonar for accurate depth readings.
- The next-level models of chartplotters from Simrad also include radar capability and seamless integration with optional accessories like autopilot and entertainment systems. Wireless mirroring to mobile devices allows you to keep informed about what is happening on and around the boat.
- Easily view all vital information on the screen by splitting the display into convenient panels, each showing the required data in real-time. This feature allows you to plot waypoints and keeps an eye on the seafloor's depth or any combination of information.
Stay Afloat With a Simrad Depth Sounder
Knowing what is beneath the surface is essential for fishermen and leisure cruisers. Sonar and related technologies provide a clear picture of what is going on underneath your boat and will present the necessary data to identify fish and hazards. Simrad offers three solutions for sonar:
- Active Imaging™ sonar. This is the staple of underwater knowledge but is only made better through superior clarity and high-resolution images. It is easy to view underwater features and fish up to 92m from the boat and feed that information into other data systems like FishReveal™.
- StructureScan 3D sonar. You can see high-resolution, three-dimensional views of the seabed in real-time on your Simrad screens using StructureScan 3D sonar. It is also possible to pan, tilt and rotate the picture for a better understanding of what you're looking at and where the fish are hiding. The scanning range is 180m on each side of the boat.
- ForwardScan sonar. Knowing what lies ahead is critical when you are in unchartered waters or navigating close to the coastline. The ForwardScan sonar provides a 2D view of the seabed in front of the vessel, or it can display colour-coded lines of depth on the nautical chart that is updated in real-time.
Ensure a Catch With a Simrad Fish Finder
Finding the right fish species is important for leisure and charter fishermen, and our fish-finders provide high-quality data for accurate results. Fish-finders are already integrated into our chartplotters, but it is possible to upgrade certain models with a more accurate Simrad transducer for better resolution.
- The hull's shape determines the mounting style of the transducer. In this regard, it is always best to discuss the options with an experienced Simrad fitter. Incorrect fitting will result in unsatisfactory results that do not provide the accuracy expected from Simrad.
- The fish-finders generally use CHIRP sonar, which has proven the most accurate method for identifying fish. The system uses multiple frequencies for the sonar bursts, and the results allow the processors to compile a more accurate picture of individual fish in the water.
See Others Clearly With Simrad Radar
Radar allows ships and boats to see others, especially when visibility is impacted. High accuracy is extremely important, and the Simrad radar sets tick all the right boxes, especially since it is easily integrated into the chartplotters.
- The Simrad Halo 20+ radar ranges 36 nautical miles and delivers a full 360° sweep every second. At close range, the rotational speed can increase to 60RPM, which provides almost real-time updates up to 1.5 nautical miles.
- The data from the radar set are also available on the chartplotter, and it provides essential information regarding the speed and direction of vessels in the vicinity.
- Optimised settings are available for harbour, offshore, weather conditions, bird flocks, and custom modes, creating accurate data.
