Description

Markfish NMEA Interface enables you to create a Waypoint and mark your Fish targets on any brand of GPS or marine multi-function display, all with a single press of your fishfinder's 'Mark' button.

The easy to install Markfish box completes your Fishfinder installation and brings your 'Mark' button to life. Simply press the button to create a Waypoint. This Waypoint will will save directly to your GPS, display the GPS coordinates of the Current location, and be saved automatically for later reference.

The Markfish also has an extra Waypoint trigger input which allows you to place a Waypoint button anywhere on your Boat. That Way, you won't need to run to your Fishfinder to press the 'Mark' button every time you see a school of Fish or an item of interest.

How to Install

Our lab-tested box is the closest that a marine electronic device will come to being fisherman proof. We have tested this device in the hot, the cold, the very salty, and wettest of environments, so you can be assured it is going to last.

How Do You Install It

Even a color-blind bomb technician could throw this one together.  Here at Markfish, we understand you are not all Mensa graduate electronics geeks and you just want to fish better.  So we did something no other electronic manufacturer has thought of.  Yes, we color-coded the wires. Green to green wire,  yellow to yellow wire. We think you might get it from here.

The diagram below, along with instructions, is included in the Markfish packaging to assist with installation.

Compatibility

MarkFish GPS & Sounder Compatibility

This page lists chartplotter and GPS models that accept NMEA 0183 waypoint input (WPL), along with Furuno sounder compatibility guidance for MarkFish.

MarkFish is designed to help compatible systems receive waypoint marking data correctly. Please always confirm wiring, settings and model-specific input support before installation.

Garmin, Lowrance, Simrad, Raymarine, Furuno

Compatibility guide: “Yes” means the model is listed as accepting NMEA 0183 waypoint input (WPL). “No” means it is listed as not accepting that input on the supplied compatibility sheets.

Furuno Sounder Compatibility

MarkFish is designed to integrate with Furuno sounder modules and standalone units that support NMEA 0183 output.

This includes a broad range of Furuno fishfinder and sounder models, including black box modules and display units commonly used across recreational and commercial vessels.

  • Furuno sounder modules and black box systems
  • Furuno FCV series sounders including FCV-295 and FCV-1150
  • Furuno FCV-585, FCV-587 and FCV-588
  • Furuno 600 series including FCV-600, FCV-620 and FCV-627
  • Newer Furuno FCV models where suitable NMEA 0183 output functionality is available

MarkFish works by utilising the NMEA 0183 output from compatible Furuno units to trigger waypoint creation on connected chartplotters.

As Furuno continues releasing newer FCV models, compatibility is generally maintained where NMEA 0183 output remains available and correctly configured.

Important: Compatibility depends on the exact model, wiring arrangement and NMEA 0183 output settings. Not all installations are identical, and setup may vary depending on the vessel’s electronics system.
